    Parent Participation Assignments

    No Experience Required — We’ll Help You Every Step of the Way!

    Our swim meets run smoothly because of amazing parent volunteers. Every family is encouraged to help out during the season. Most jobs are easy to learn, fun, and give you the best seat in the house to watch your swimmer compete!


    Meet Setup & Cleanup

    Help prepare the pool deck before the meet and pack everything up afterward. Duties may include setting up chairs, tables, tents, timing areas, and team spaces. Away meets may also require helping with team tent setup and breakdown.


    Ready Area Team

    Ready Area Coordinator #1

    Organizes swimmers by event and lane in the ready area, calls out upcoming events, and helps keep swimmers moving efficiently. Great for organized parents with loud voices and positive energy!

    Ready Area Coordinator #2

    Leads groups of swimmers from the ready area to the starting blocks while ensuring swimmers are in the correct event and lane. Helps keep the meet running on time.

    Ready Area Assistants

    Assist coordinators with organizing swimmers and escorting groups to the blocks. A fun way to stay involved and close to the action.


    Timers

    Use team-provided stopwatches to time races and record swimmer times. No experience needed, and training is provided. This is one of the best viewing spots at the meet!


    Head Timer

    Coordinates lane timers, manages timing schedules, assists backup timing when needed, and helps ensure races run smoothly.


    Runners

    Collect timing sheets from timers and deliver them to the scoring table. Fast-paced and perfect for parents who enjoy staying active during the meet.


    Scoring Team

    Head Scorer

    Oversees scoring operations and verifies official times from event sheets.

    Scorers

    Assist with entering and verifying swimmer times during the meet.


    Ribbon Writers

    Prepare award ribbons using printed labels from the scoring table. This important role helps recognize swimmers for their hard work and achievements.


    Floaters

    Flexible volunteers who help wherever needed throughout the meet. Perfect for parents willing to jump in and support the team wherever assistance is needed.


    Safety Marshal

    Helps monitor the pool deck, spectator areas, and walkways to ensure a safe and positive environment for all swimmers and families.


    CCSL Training Required Positions

    The following volunteer roles require CCSL certification or training. If you are interested in becoming certified, please let us know — we’d love to help you get started!


    Clerk of Course

    Handles scratches, substitutions, swimmer eligibility, and event updates. Works closely with coaches and meet officials to help keep the meet organized and efficient.


    Starter

    Calls swimmers to the blocks, starts races, and manages false starts according to league rules.


    Referee

    Serves as the lead official during the swim meet and has final authority on rule interpretations and meet decisions.


    Stroke & Turn Judge

    Observes swimmer strokes and turns to ensure league rules are followed. Helps swimmers improve by explaining any disqualifications when necessary.
